Kriss Kross- Jump Jump

This is today's throwback of the day. I swear Ima bring the wearing the pants backwards trend back!

Martin holiday episode

Ok so over the course of the holiday break I'll be posting holiday episodes from my favorite shows. This is the episode of Martin where he & Gina get stuck at the bus station. I still laugh at this show even though I've seen each episode about 10 times

Obama's weekly Adress

The RIAA cracks down on you downloaders!

The new strategy (as reported by the Wall Street Journal): If the music industry finds out that you're swapping music files online, it'll send an e-mail to your ISP (agreements have already hashed out agreements with "some" unnamed service providers, apparently), which will in turn forward the message to you—probably with a little "P.S." asking you to stop. [Update: CNET has a copy of the RIAA's form letter to ISPs.]

If you don't stop, well ... your service provider probably won't sue you, but it might slow down your broadband connection, or cut off your service altogether.

So, why has the RIAA changed the play? Well, maybe it's been looking at reports like this one from the NPD Group, which shows that U.S. CD sales continue to slide, while the number of tunes shared via P2P sites continues to increase, despite all the litigation.

And then there's the disastrous headlines, as the RIAA relentlessly tracked down and sued tens of thousands of alleged music pirates. Among them: Kids, octogenarians, and a few dead people.

Reaction to the news? Mixed. Engadget's headline reads (in part): "RIAA finds its soul," with the story noting that while the RIAA reserves the right to go after "heavy uploaders or repeat offenders ... it appears that single mothers are in the clear."

All Things Digital has a darker outlook, speculating that ISPs—which "care about the cost of moving lots of data around … [and] want to make money by selling, renting, or just offering up Hollywood's movies and TV shows to subscribers"—might be more than content to "cut off file-sharers … [or] simply [charge] heavy file-sharers a lot of money."

And here's another possibility, courtesy of yours truly: Say your ISP catches you sharing tunes via P2P. No problem—download away! But when you get your next cable bill, you'll find the itemized songs added to your monthly charge, kind of like an iTunes bill.

haha I find this so funny. You're downloading your favorite songs one day & your internet just shuts down haha
I'll make a prediction. I bet the RIAA will team up with ISP's(internet service providers) & start something like limewire but they'll make you pay for it. I dont see anything wrong with this. I dont even download music. Go buy those CD's people!

Scarface - Emeritus

Photobucket
I cannot begin to explain how great this album is! It's so real. That's the thing that I appreciated about Face. He always kept in real no matter what the current state of the game was. Anyone of any background can find a song on this album that they like. The beats are bangin' as usual, his storytelling skills are on point as usual, & you can smell the bluntness on his breath! Please go get this album! Im gonna' get it for my pops as a christmas gift.

He has worked with oils, acrylics, water colors, finger paints, dyes, pastels, charcoal, pen, multi-colored pencils, etchings, engravings, animation cells, lithographs, serigraphs, silk screens, ceramics, sculpture, collage, video and computer graphics. He loves all media, including mass media as a "canvas" for his creative expression. As in his prolific creative output, Max is as passionate in his creative input. Pharrell to write Movie Score

PPerspectives-Pharell Williams Pictures, Images and Photos

Pharrell, who to me seems as though he just DOES NOT AGE has been snagged by Universal Pictures to to the movie score for the upcoming film Zoom.

Universal Pictures and Imagine Entertainment have set Preston Whitmore to write and direct “Zoom,” a music-themed film that teams “8 Mile” producer Brian Grazer with musician and music producer Pharrell Williams.

Grazer and Williams will produce. Williams will compose the score and soundtrack.

“Zoom” is the story of a troubled West Virginia youth who attends a music academy and finds his voice and a place in the world.

Congrats to Pharrell, doing a movie score is a really good look! Here's a little Thursday morning throwback Pharrell for you.

Gemma Smith

Photobucket
gemma smith recently completed her latest show at sarah cottier gallery. the show featured paintings and
sculptural works that were filled with colour. the sculptures or ‘boulders’ as they were titled, featured acrylic
sheets of different colours attached together to form a multicoloured rock that changes tone as you move
around it. the paintings carried on the faceted theme on a two-dimensional scale. each one featured
different tones arranged in a sparkly crystal like pattern. the colours have been applied in solids and as
washes to gives each canvas a depth.
